Welcome to the REDLANDS SEA DRAGONS.   Our aim is to enjoy the sport of dragon boating, while encouraging and assisting our members to achieve their individual goals of fitness and competition. We have members who can't wait for the next training session and to compete in regattas and other members who come down on a Saturday morning just for the exercise and a cup of coffee afterwards.  It doesn't matter if you're interested in the competition or the camaraderie, come down and experience the thrill of Dragon Boating.

Come and Try - $15 for 3 paddling sessions - click here

The Redlands Sea Dragons would again like to thank the Redland City Council for their ongoing support in granting us a $500 Mayor's Small Grant in 2011 to assist us to write a proposal.

Thank You to the "Redlands RSL Charitable Trust Grants" 2011 program for giving us $2,400 for training. Some of the Grant was used to fund an Advanced Coaching Clinic for members and it also funded 5 members to go to an Advanced Coaching Camp.

Video of Harvard training racing another boat
Note the graph of strokes per minute, distance traveled although that doesn't start
till the boat has traveled 20 or 30 meters, and speed in meters per second.  Interesting to watch how little
the speed increases when a lift is called.  We've all been there, just wishing that finish line was closer.
The app that does the recording is called Ritmo Time Stroke Monitor for the iPhone.
